Pope2You: Send your photo to Pope Francis!

2013-07-12 - POPE2YOU

Young pilgrims from around the world who are preparing to go to World Youth Day (WYD Rio2013) will be able to show the day-to-day events of their groups to Pope Francis. Through the website http://www.pope2you.net, they will be able to send their photos to the Holy Father.

The project was envisioned for WYD Rio2013 by the Pontifical Council for Social Communications. According to Fr. Paolo Padrini, chief promoter of the project, sent photos can be of the youths themselves, their groups or religious movements. They must be able to show how the subjects are preparing to go to World Youth Day.

Fr. Paolo Padrini explained further that all video and photographic material will be collected and then sent to Pope Francis: “It is a beautiful way of saying how they are preparing themselves for this extremely important spiritual event! It will be a way as well for those unable to go to Rio, to be able to feel their spiritual presence,” highlighted Fr. Padrini.

Rio Daily

During the days of World Youth Day, a project will be done in conjunction with the Italian daily Corriere della Sera (www.corriere.it): With Pope Francis… The Rio Daily.

It will produce daily videos, showing the experiences of young pilgrims. Material will be transmitted through the site Pope2You. Beyond this, it will present photographs and testimonies from the participants of World Youth Day, which will also be published on social media (Facebook and Twitter).

Photos from The Rio Daily” will be shared on the photo social network Pinterest at the URLhttp://pinterest.com/pope2you/. There will be photos of the Holy Father and of youths who will be present in Rio de Janeiro.

Collected photos from the days of World Youth Day will be delivered to the sitehttp://www.pope2you.net. From there, the images will be joined together to make various collages. Beyond that, the collages can be sent to friends and shared through social media.
