Responsible to report aspects related to culture not only in Brazil but in other countries and the other way around likewise. One of the highlights will be the range of cultural events throughout the country, with their differences and in particular, with the influences from the numerous groups who settled in Brazil. "The idea is to have 27 stages, one for each state, with emphasis on the colonization process. We want to show as much of the Brazilian cultural expression,” said Fr. Marcos William Bernardo, responsible for the commission.
"It is the gateway to all who wish work in the WYD," said Father Ramon Nascimento, who coordinates the work. Through it, entries will be received and then forwarded for many sectors, according to the demand created in each one. The expectation is that it takes about 60.000 volunteers for the event. Volunteers are responsible for 90% of the work in a WYD.
This sector is already developing a great job of identifying and mapping potential locations to host the pilgrims. The hosting points will be, among other places, schools, clubs, religious institutions and family homes. "It will happen at the vicariate meetings with the coordinators pointed by each parish," said Sister Graça, responsible for the sector. Also, there will be a specific assistance for pilgrims with special needs.
"We can live a full communion to show the world that the Church speaks one language and this language is Christ", Fr. Marcio Queiroz, director, commented on the importance of communication generating communion. The sector is responsible for the content of the website (www.rio2013.com), media, social networks and all campaigns that will be made for WYD. The work also involves a connection with all other sectors and the marketing and advertising areas.
The CNBB proposal is to increase the missionary experience of the Church throughout Brazil and who is going to participate “in the Day in the Dioceses” will be part of this. All dioceses will organize teams to host the pilgrims on the week before of the WYD. "It will be a missionary living in the local church, a direct contact with the spirituality and culture", said Fr. Jefferson Araujo. The Days in the Dioceses moreover wants to establish a dialogue with the youth in colleges and universities.
This commission is responsible for the catechesis that will take place during the World Youth Day, like the choice of the official hymn and prayer, and subsidies that will be used by the Archdiocese for training on topics related to WYD when it comes to spirituality. In 2011 the Christmas prayers in many churches from the city were focused on the theme of hospitality and reception. Who is in charge of this commission are the deacons Arnaldo Rodrigues, Adriano de Abreu and Leandro Lenin.
